How to fight laziness

Human beings...We are creatures of habits and unfortunately most of us are lazy. So if we are lazy how we gonna achieve anything great? How do you keep yourself accountable? Not easily. Not easily.

How many of you know exactly what you need to do to move closer to your goals? Even you know, you just can’t get yourself to do those things. You procrastinate, you delay .

You make up excuses or you say I don’t know how. Today I’m gonna give you the three rules you can use today to keep yourself accountable and to fight laziness.

Number One: People

So imagine this: you want to get in shape, to get fit, to be healthier and lose weight. Now, what are some of the things you can do? You could go and buy one of those gadgets and machines that you see on TV.

You buy it and then it gets delivered to you at home. You use it for a couple of days and very quickly they become what I call expensive dust collector.

You can say “oh I’m gonna sign up for a gym membership”and you know how it works. You sign up for a gym membership, maybe you go a couple times and then you stop going because “yeah, I’ll go next week”. No one is hold you accountable. You can not even hold yourself accountable! Or you can use the first tip: People..

Now imagine a different scenario where you are gonna loose weight but you’re gonne hire some people. You gonna surround yourself with people who hold you accountable, who keep you accountable. So let’s say you hire a personal trainer. And you know that personal trainer is costing you, a lot. The personal trainer trains with you, comes up with a meal plan and some some kind of exercise plan for you. Well, guess what? Chances of you doing what it takes, that probability goes up.

Number two: Process

Before we can talk about process we have to remember these words. A real commitment is a commitment with a formal structure. So let’s take the previous example again.

You have a personal trainer. Now the PT comes up with a real scheduled plan (meal and exercise) for you. Three days a week you have to do a workout for 1 hour. You have to eat clean food in specified quantity. You have to plan every single meal. That schedule will go to be your schedule every single week. It’s doesn’t matter if it’s raining or snowing. It doesn’t matter if it’s sunny. That’s is a real commitment. A commitment with formal structure. You know exactly what the structure you need to follow, you know exactly the start point and the end point you have to reach. That’s a process.

Number Three: Public declaration

Public declaration, meaning you are telling the world what you gonna do. This is a very powerful way to make sure you keep yourself accountable. That’s because there is no plan B, no backup plan, there’s no maybe.   There isn’t “Well I’ll see how I feel”. There isn’t “We will see if we will make it happen”. There is only “Fuck! We gonna make it happen!”. Because human being is very very interesting. When we make a public declaration, we don’t want to loose face. We don’t want to break a promise to the world. And we’ll do everything we possible could to make sure that we can fulfill on that promise.

Long Story Short

You see how this works? When you combine with people, surround yourself with people who hold you accountable, when you have a proven process, knowing exactly what you need to take and do that without thinking about of it. You just do. And then you tell it to the world, you make a public declaration. You declare to the world these are my goals. “This is what I’m gonna do. There’s no backup. I’m not gonna back out.”
